Intel to Enter Discrete Graphics Market with Intel Xᵉ

For quite some time (years, in fact), Intel has been making noise about entering the discrete graphics cards market. The first talk about the move was with Project “Larrabee” which was due to be released in 2010, but almost a decade later we still don’t have anything to challenge AMD and NVIDIA. Intel Xᵉ is set to change that, and bring a third party into the mix to disrupt the current duopoly.

Huawei and Other Chinese Mobile Equipment Manufacturers Hit by International Bans from Japanese and Western Governments

Huawei and other Chinese mobile manufacturers are in trouble, with Japan’s three large mobile network providers, SoftBank Group, NTT Docomo and KDDI, having banned Chinese equipment from being used for their 5G networks due to security concerns. Huawei currently accounts for around 60% of the fiscal value of SoftBank’s mobile base stations as of 2017. The Japanese government has also blocked Huawei and others from public procurement. This follows the arrest of Huawei’s CFO and daughter of founder Ren Zhengfei, 46 year old Meng Wanzhou, in Vancouver, USA on 1 December for allegedly violating American sanctions on selling technology to Iran. The arrest has may be the catalyst in US Chinese ties, and has driven stock prices down as well as sparked fear in small US phone companies, who fear they will be forced to uninstall existing Huawei infrastructure.

Gigabyte GeForce RTX 2060 Graphics Card Makes an Appearance

The GeForce RTX series of cards is the latest technology that NVIDIA (or the industry, for that matter) has to offer, and is a technology that was 10 years in the making. Until now, however, it has been confined to the higher end cards including the RTX 2070, RTX 2080, and RTX 2080 Ti. RTX features are limited to these cards, and therefore those with deep pockets, and out of reach of most gamers. That is set to change, however, with the introduction of the GeForce RTX 2060, and today we get a peek at Gigabyte’s take on a factory overclocked version, albeit only renders of the card.
