The latest development with the launch of the upcoming GeForce GTX 1660 Ti is a sighting of the MSI GTX 1660 Ti GAMING X and MSI GTX 1660 Ti ARMOR. The GTX 1660 Ti is a Turing-based card that lacks RTX and comes in at 1,536 CUDA cores, as opposed to the 2,304 seen on the RTX 2060.

GeForce GTX 1660 Ti 3 GB Cards Coming? ASUS Registers 3 GB Cards with EEC

Much like the GeForce GTX 1060 it replaced, it seems the GeForce GTX 1660 Ti will also come in both 3 GB and 6 GB variants. ASUS has filed a total of 20 SKUs with the Eurasian Economic Commission, or EEC, spread across nine 3 GB cards and eleven 6 GB cards.

The GeForce RTX series of cards is the latest technology that NVIDIA (or the industry, for that matter) has to offer, and is a technology that was 10 years in the making. Until now, however, it has been confined to the higher end cards including the RTX 2070, RTX 2080, and RTX 2080 Ti. No, that wasn’t a typo. This isn’t the Asus Turbo Edition, even though it too makes use of a blower-type cooler seen on the Asus card. To be honest, the point of this card is a bit of a puzzle as Gigabyte already has a blower-cooled RTX 2080 Ti, and the Aorus brand is normally reserved to their high-end offerings while blower coolers are generally seen on reference and entry-level cards.

RTX 2060 Possibly Delayed

Nvidia stocks are down 18%. Team green blames the miners. Seems like they’re on the gamer’s side again, doesn’t it?

But there’s more to it. Nvidia apparently expected the mining craze to last longer. So they turned all their machines on overdrive and churned out as many 1060’s as they possibly could. And then it all stopped, dropped and rolled. Now they’re sitting on excess stock they have to move before they can release the RTX 2060. Now while this isn’t great news, the question is “how long”?
