Unreal Engine 4.22 Adds DirectX Raytracing Support

Until now, the only games utilizing DirectX Raytracing (DXR) were Battlefield V and today’s Metro: Exodus. DXR is about to become a lot more accessible with the latest version of the game development kit from Epic, Unreal Engine 4.22, allowing developers to incorporate ray tracing into games. This isn’t quite full blown, 100% ray tracing, but a massive step towards it.

The latest development with the launch of the upcoming GeForce GTX 1660 Ti is a sighting of the MSI GTX 1660 Ti GAMING X and MSI GTX 1660 Ti ARMOR. The GTX 1660 Ti is a Turing-based card that lacks RTX and comes in at 1,536 CUDA cores, as opposed to the 2,304 seen on the RTX 2060.

Rumour – AMD Navi Delayed Until October 2019?

Last week AMD released the 7nm Radeon VII, and next on their release schedule is Navi, a mainstream part to go head-to-head with NVIDIA’s midrange cards. Navi is a 7 nm refesh of the Graphics Core Next architecture, which itself has already evolved multiple times since its initial appearance as the 28 nm architecture seen on the Radeon HD 7000 graphics cards. Initially speculated to release somewhere around the middle of the year, there is now rumour of release being pushed back somewhat.

SuperMicro Plans to Re-Enter Desktop Market with Gaming Grade Motherboards

SuperMicro is not a name generally associated with anything other than servers, even though they didn’t completely leave the desktop market. Truth be told, they even have Intel Z390 motherboards such as the SuperMicro C9Z390-PGW. It features a PLC chip that doesn’t the number of PCI-Express lanes from 16 to 32, two M.2 and two U.2 ports, and even 10 Gigabit Ethernet. Not bad for, what was, the last company to insist on using green PCBs for all of their motherboards.

Battlefield V Gets NVIDIA DLSS Support
